How to plan a Saturday that actually happens
Five moves that turn “tuende somewhere” into an afternoon on the grass with everyone there.

Most weekend plans die in the group chat, somewhere between a thumbs up and a poll. Here is how to get one out alive.
1. Don’t ask where. Say where.
“Anywhere is fine” is how Saturdays end up nowhere. Pick the place yourself. People complain less about a real plan than you’d think.
2. Give people a reason to arrive
Leave something there that only opens when you’re all there together: last year’s photos, a playlist, a voice note from the friend who moved away. Suddenly nobody wants to be the one everyone’s waiting for.
3. Say the time like you mean it
“Around two-ish” is a mood, not a time. “Saa nane” is a time. For certain friends, say “saa saba” and let them be pleasantly surprised.
4. One Ping, on the day
When you get there, send one Ping: “We’re at the usual spot. Come through.” One. Not five. Togra won’t let you send the same one twice anyway.
5. Bring something small
Mandazi, a ball, a speaker, a deck of cards. A plan with snacks has a 90% success rate. We made that number up, but you know it’s true.
Made you want to go somewhere?
